Happy 25th Birthday to the Web!!!

Wow has it really been 25 years?

When it was launched it back in March 1989 it was for the educationalists of the world to share their discoveries and learning much faster. It was functional and basic (check out what the first page looked like here).

Back then who would have thought that today our lives would be transformed by it. Children growing up over the last 25 years have mastered the black art of coding and given us a world that it seems knows no bounds to the use of the web. Today you can control when your heating comes on from your phone thanks to the web and gone are the days of the 2am wake up when you suddenly remember the name of a person who starred in film you saw last year and loved - you just pick up your phone and google the film and hey presto you've got your answer!

So this week we wish the web a very happy birthday :-)

Can't wait to see what the next 25 years will bring!
