We've blogged over the last few weeks about how much technology is changing the world around us and how fast it is changing the way we behave and interact with each other. So let's look at this in more detail.

Let's begin with that little smartphone that apparently if you put it in your back pocket all the time will give you a bad back and looking at it all the time will give prematurely age your neck and probably cause you neck and shoulder ache! We use them all the time (stats report more people own smartphones than toothbrushes). This technology is enabling us to find the nearest chinese restaurant to your location and will show them to you using 'Augmented reality' apps, when you can get directions of how to get there and when you've eaten you can 'tweet' or 'blog' a review instantly and get a discount code to get the meal cheaper - all from your phone. The details you entered to get your discount code will now live somewhere on a cloud based system as data and you will from now on receive customised offers about other similar discounts available or meals you can enjoy.

You have just interacted with the Nexus of Forces - otherwise known as 'cloud', 'data', 'social' and 'mobile'.

As a business make sure the journey your customer takes to use your product or service is the best it can be, you'll need to mitigate the risk - if I don't do this will my business survive, if I do this well will it thrive?
